In Berlin, the whole week has been celebrated in various ways that thirty years have passed since the peaceful revolution caused the walls to fall. In Germany, a divided people could be reunited just a year after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The free tank is honored with a 150 meter long floating artwork of colorful fabric strips. Over six months, 30,000 people have contributed their thoughts and hopes to the installation of American artist Patrick Shearn. "Your vision in the sky over Berlin" is the motto for the fluffy carpet of dreams and reflections. The installation will show that those who raise their voices together can overcome dictatorships and make the impossible possible.

Everyone can digitally contribute their thoughts through the project's website. In an enlightened giant globe, the messages are projected.

The peaceful revolution has been the subject of conferences, exhibitions and television programs lately. In seven symbolic places in the German capital, moving images are displayed outdoors from the events of 1989 that led to the unification of Germany and Europe.

Virtual environments such as mined border facilities and watchtowers take visitors on a time trip to the atmosphere of the divided city's cold war. Guided bike tours along the wall stretch and visits to newly opened escape tunnels are also offered.

The finale will be a great music program at the city gate and the victory monument Brandenburger Tor. Classical music with Staatskapelle Berlin is interspersed with punk and rock from the most popular bands of the GDR.

SVT broadcasts a full evening on the Berlin Wall on the ninth of November with a concert, documentaries and a live broadcast from the celebration at the Brandenburg Gate.
