The actress Adèle Haenel, who denounces sexual abuse but does not see the interest of filing a complaint, "must trust justice," said Thursday Christophe Castaner who recalled the need to "complain systematically" in such cases.

"We have to reassure her because she is suffering from extremely violent trauma, and both the police and the justice will be at her side," the interior minister told France Info.

"Every day, there are 200 women who come to a police station or barracks (...) that we accompany, every day there may be a woman, two women, ten women who are saved by the police and the gendarmerie. It happens that there are missed, it is unbearable and I condemn them, and we must improve it permanently (...) but I want to tell her that she must trust to justice, "added Mr. Castaner.

In cases of harassment or sexual violence, "we must file a complaint systematically," said the minister who admitted that the "shock" to which victims were confronted, could be a brake on such an approach.

With accusations of sexual abuse against director Christophe Ruggia, Adele Haenel has brought to light the recurring criticisms addressed to justice since the #MeToo wave.

"Justice ignores us, we ignore justice." The 30-year-old actress explained to Mediapart why she does not intend to lodge a complaint against the person she accuses of acts which she "clearly considers to be pedophilia and sexual harassment", between her 12 and 15 years, and with whom she shot her first film, "The Devils".

The Paris prosecutor announced Wednesday to have opened a preliminary investigation for "sexual assault" on minors under 15 years "per person with authority" and "sexual harassment." The investigation was entrusted to the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons (OCRVP).

Asked Wednesday morning on the case, the custody of the seals Nicole Belloubet had felt that Adele Haenel "should seize justice". "She is wrong to think that justice can not respond to this type of situation," said the minister on France Inter, while welcoming the character "very courageous" of his approach.
