This came during the «Regional Workshop on Capacity Building on the Development of Drug Abuse Prevention and Addiction Services», hosted by the National Rehabilitation Center, in cooperation with the Regional Office of the World Health Organization, and concluded its work yesterday.
During the workshop, specialists in the field of addiction treatment recommended standardizing treatment programs for the treatment of drug addicts and psychotropic substances, measuring their impact and success, and unifying preventive programs and plans designed to reduce the spread of the drug pest.
Participants in the workshop called for benefiting from the experiences of countries, especially in the areas of scientific research, stressing the importance of establishing a specific mechanism for the development of scientific research programs at the regional level, as well as the standardization of tables of types of drugs used in the treatment of drug addicts. Al Ghafari explained that the workshop focused on training and rehabilitation of three categories of people involved in drug and psychotropic substance addiction centers, namely managers of health and psychological sectors, managers of addiction treatment centers, and heads of departments concerned with daily and direct work with patients, stressing at the same time the importance of educating community members Drugs, and preventive measures thereof.
