On October 27, in Zaraysk, FSB officers detained Boris Banin, a third-year student in the Lukhovitsky Agricultural and Industrial College, who was preparing an armed attack on classmates. An 18-year-old student is charged with attempted murder of two or more persons under Part 3 of Art. 30 of the Criminal Code and Art. 105 of the Criminal Code. According to investigators, the student planned to shoot classmates during classes - during a search, weapons were seized from him. The student planned the attack on October 29.

On November 7, members of the Public Monitoring Commission for the implementation of public monitoring of human rights in places of forced detention (PMC) visited Banina in pre-trial detention center-6 in Kolomna.

During a conversation with a representative of the PMC of the Moscow Region, Daniil Lomakin, Banin said that he had no complaints about the conditions of detention. The only thing the arrested complained about was the cold food served in the pre-trial detention center.

Banin pleads guilty, but notes that most of the information about him that was distributed by journalists is not true.

So, the media, referring to young men they knew, wrote that the detainee allegedly repeatedly told them about his intention to go to Syria to fight on the side of ISIS *, and watched lectures on the smartphone of the execution of a terrorist organization on his smartphone. According to media reports, Banin also kept a death note, where he entered the names of future victims with whom he had conflicts.

When asked whether he had heard that his acquaintances were talking about him, Banin replied that "he never kept any" death notebooks "and didn’t watch this kind of video - neither in pairs at college, nor in solitude."

“Besides, I did not accept Islam - I am generally unbeliever, albeit baptized. Except for recordings with shootings, various educational videos, but nothing of what they’re talking about, ”he said.

Banin tries not to watch news on television about himself. The student's cellmate says that the young man did not read the newspaper with the article on the arrest and threw it into the trash.

At the same time, Banin claims that other college students who gave him the nickname Terrorist really mocked him - they beat him several times.

“Just because I'm weird,” he explains.

Independent life

The young man decided to move to the hostel after he was not able to obtain the right to dispose of his 3-room apartment recorded on his father, where he lived together with his grandmother - the father and mother of the young man were deprived of parental rights.

“I wanted to exchange it for two apartments in order to start an independent life, but the court refused. Why - I still don’t understand, ”he says.

Moreover, according to Banin, he has a good relationship with his grandmother.

“The investigator said that my grandmother will soon be able to visit me in jail,” he notes. - With a father and mother I do not maintain a relationship. In addition to my grandmother, I also have an aunt and uncle. We communicate well with them. ”

Sensitive, makes decisions quickly

A source close to the investigation told RT that the suspect allegedly did not plan suicide by analogy with other similar cases in educational institutions. Nevertheless, the investigation will conduct a psychological and psychiatric examination of the arrested student.

In the meantime, according to the interlocutor, doctors believe that the psychological state of the young man is still prone to suicide and recommend keeping him in a cell under constant video surveillance. According to doctors, Banin is emotionally unstable, touchy, prone to quick decision-making, while the criminal environment does not support this. Since the arrest, the psychologist has met with Banin three times already.

However, Banin's school teachers did not notice any oddities in his behavior.

“He was a quiet guy, non-conflict,” RT told the school, where Banin was in grade 10. “He loved history, especially the history of weapons, he was fond of drawing.”

The director of Podhodzhenskaya secondary school, in which Banin studied until the 9th grade, told RT that his academic performance was lame, but in general the young man did not stand out from the total mass of students.

“When he studied with us, I taught computer science,” recalls Vladimir Selivanov. - I knew my discipline for the weak “four”, I don’t know anything about my passion for shooting games. His favorite subjects were OBZh and physical education. Boris rarely did his homework, so academic performance was lame. But I don’t remember any serious violations so that my parents would be called to school. ”

A college student friend told RT that Banina could hardly be called an outcast.

“Good, friendly, of those people who can help in difficult times,” the source said. - He never behaved aggressively. He fought, of course, but rarely. I would not say that they treated him badly. Yes, and he had friends. ”
