“During the conversation, the state of preparations for the next meeting of the high-level Strategic Council in Kiev under the co-chairmanship of the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey was discussed,” the statement said.

The parties noted the mutual disposition "to further strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest."

"The interlocutors agreed on the importance of intensifying the negotiation process to prepare for the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Turkey," the statement said.

Erdogan, as emphasized, noted the continued support by Turkey of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

“He also welcomed the steps of the head of the Ukrainian state to peacefully resolve the situation in the Donbass,” the press service said.

In early August, Zelensky during his visit to Ankara invited the Turkish side to take part in the restoration of infrastructure facilities in the Donbass.
