Météo France placed on Wednesday morning vigilance orange flood the department of Charente-Maritime which adds to Pas-de-Calais where ten municipalities were affected in the night of Monday to Tuesday by the phenomenon following heavy rains.

Significant floods are expected on the Boutonne, Charente Maritime, and on the Liane, in the Palais-de-Calais, according to a bulletin broadcast at 6am. La Liane, a river that flows into the Channel, has overflowed under the effect of "cumulated heavy rain.
At 12H00 Tuesday, the SDIS (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service) had conducted a total of "101 interventions" but "no casualties are to be deplored", said in a statement, the prefecture of the Pas-de-France Calais.

According to the prefecture, "the future rainfall is negligible on the Pas-de-Calais and the recession will take place during the day on all rivers".
