Australia's Ashleigh Barty, winner of the WTA Masters of Shenzhen Sunday, finishes the season largely ahead of the world rankings, unveiled Monday. The first French, Kristina Mladenovic, is 40th.
With 7,851 points, she relegated her pursuer, the Czech Karolína Plíšková (5940 points) to nearly 2,000 points. A hole !
Japan's Naomi Osaka finished the season on the podium (5.496), beating Simona Halep of Romania (5.462).
The Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, Masters finalist, made the best progression of the top 10 by winning two places (6th), overtaken by the Canadian Bianca Andreescu.
Despite a place lost at the expense of the Dutchman Kiki Bertens (9th), the American Serena Williams finishes in the top 10.
Kristina Mladenovic is the best French on the whole season. Ranked 40th (1,360 points), she is slightly ahead of Caroline Garcia (45th, 1,235 points).
Alizé Cornet finishes the 60th year, Fiona Ferro 63rd.
