Lars-Gunnar Larsson from Eksjö believes that he could have avoided the surgery and had to keep his own heart if his illness had been detected in good time and treated properly. He wants Sweden's donation register to change completely.

- I think everyone would automatically be included in the donation register and anyone who does not want to be allowed to report that they want to leave the register instead, but if you leave it you should also not be allowed to take part in organs, says Lars-Gunnar Larsson.

Hereditary disease

He has worked as a trainer and sports manager for the Engineering Regiment in Eksjö and has driven eight Vasalopp. Nevertheless, at the age of 53 he had already suffered two heart attacks that led to the heart change. Neither Lars-Gunnar nor the doctors knew then why the heart attack was.

After his brother died just over 50 years old, Lars-Gunnar decided that he wanted a larger medical examination. This explained why the infarctions occurred. Lars-Gunnar suffered from the hereditary disease Familjär hypercholestrolemia.
