Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said on his official Twitter page that Jordanian nationals jailed by Israel are returning to the kingdom before the end of the week.

The Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that the agreement came after lengthy talks and intensive contacts and moves initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since the arrest of Heba Al-Labadi and Abdul Rahman Marei in coordination with all concerned.

The statement quoted al-Safadi that the government followed the case since its inception with direct instructions from the Jordanian King Abdullah II, and took all necessary steps to release the prisoners at all costs.

Jordan summoned its ambassador to Israel for consultations late last month, against the background of the Israeli occupation authorities not to release al-Labadi and Marei, and the continued detention of "illegal and inhuman" for months and without any charges.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry, in a statement at the time, held Israel fully responsible for the lives of Jordanian citizens, affirming that it would continue to take legal, diplomatic and political measures to ensure their return.
