MEP EELV Yannick Jadot on Sunday accused President Emmanuel Macron of "organizing the victory" of Marine Le Pen in the presidential election of 2022 by building a "cursed couple" with the head of the National Rally.

"Emmanuel Macron, today, does not only blow on embers: he is setting fire to our company," lamented Mr. Jadot on LCI. For him, by orchestrating "a duel" with Marine Le Pen, Mr. Macron "is organizing the victory" of the far right leader.

"He takes his themes and he precarious society" and "continues to participate in the social and territorial fractures of our country", "that is to raise Marine Le Pen 100%" for 2022, denounced the deputy ecologist.

"Emmanuel Macron seeks basically to take up the subjects of Marine Le Pen and sometimes potentially his proposals to try to build a duel, a damned couple for the next presidential," he also denounced.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen each collect 27 to 28% of voting intentions in the first round for the presidential election of 2022, far ahead of the other candidates including Yannick Jadot (between 7.5 and 9%), according to an Ifop poll for the JDD published Sunday.

In the second round, the president would win by 55% (-2 points compared to May), against 45% for Marine Le Pen. Emmanuel Macron won in May 2017 by 66.1% of the votes against 33.9% for his rival.

Asked about Emmanuel Macron's controversial interview with the conservative newspaper Valeurs Actuelles, Yannick Jadot said that with this interview, the president was not addressing "the popular classes" but "a very small minority of the fringe the most reactionary bourgeois of our country ".

"Simply, the major fault he makes is that his mandate, it must be appease, reconcile, carry a project that takes us all." However, considers the ecologist MP, he "returns to the worst of what the right says".
