Experts recommend that schoolchildren and students spend no more than three hours a day with electronic devices (computer, laptop, tablet, etc.). Those who devote more of their time to gadgets have an increased risk of developing physical abnormalities, experts say.

Among the possible health problems that this lifestyle leads to, researchers call myopia, mental and neurological abnormalities, as well as disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

In addition, the frequent use of devices with headphones increases the likelihood of hearing problems.

Researchers also note that the increase in body weight of young people directly depends on the time spent at a computer or laptop.

Due to excessive enthusiasm for gadgets, young people devote less time to sleep, outdoor walks and sports. So, students spend on sleep 9% less time, and on walks and sports - 6%. As for students, due to the use of gadgets their sleep is reduced by 7%. Time spent playing sports and outdoors is less than 4%.

The study involved 465 high school students (16 years old) and 598 students (20 years old) from three regions of Russia.

Earlier in Russia, it was proposed to limit the use of mobile phones in schools.
