• Road to 10-N. This is how the parties face the electoral campaign against Sánchez

First debate of the electoral campaign, organized by TVE , with the seven parliamentary spokespersons - PSOE, PP, Cs, United We Can, Vox, PNV and ERC - in an open war to establish position and mark the widest possible territory for their party. Four women and three men, and 130 minutes of discussion from which there was not a hint of agreement unless, today, none is willing to support Pedro Sánchez after 10-N.

Cs anticipated that his desire after the elections would be "to govern with the PP" although in the case of the large state pacts, he would reach out to a PSOE located in the opposition. ERC recalled the support it gave to the Socialists in the motion of censure but rejected that this support will occur again. Vox ruled out any pact with Sanchez but assumed that the remaining political forces, if necessary, will. The PNV defended the stability and assured that it will contribute to the government as long as it accepts its "Basque agenda".

The PP insisted that in Spain "there is no blockade, there is a blocker that is Sánchez" , who came to La Moncloa "with the support of a fugitive from justice and a convicted person for sedition." Álvarez de Toledo ruled out abstention and demanded to start talking to the PSOE, the rupture of the agreements he maintains with nationalism and independence.

Adriana Lastra, on the other hand, raised the objective of the PSOE to govern in a minority by offering programmatic agreements to the left but refusing to open the door of the Council of Ministers. He also ruled out the great coalition with the PP. Irene Montero reminded the socialist spokeswoman that if Sánchez is in La Moncloa it is thanks to the support that Podemos gave him in the motion of censure. The spokeswoman for Podemos hit hard: "You have lied to us all . "

The Catalan problem faced everyone against everyone. For Aitor Esteban of the PNV, the "plurinationality of the State" must be recognized. In his opinion, "bilaterality, a neutral arbitrator and that people decide" is essential.

Arrimadas (Cs) shot towards the PSOE asking his spokesman, Adriana Lastra: "How many nations are there in Spain?" . Espinosa de los Monteros pointed out that Catalan secessionism is "taking a continuous blow to the State" and defended the application of the state of emergency.

Gabriel Rufián (ERC) held on to the convictions of the procés leaders who together add "more than a century." He spoke of "country of countries" and asked "to make politics and stop threatening". For Rufián there is no doubt that after 10-N, the PSOE will agree with the right .

Álvarez de Toledo stressed that independence has "failed" and said that the "only hope that secessionism has left" is the PSOE, with its declaration of Barcelona and Pedralbes.

The socialist accused the rest of "lying" and insisted that the PSOE defends the Constitution "from the first word to the last", but failed to answer the question that was asked about the nation of nations. Montero defended that in Spain there are "multiple identities" and called for "a democratic mechanism" for people to pronounce themselves.

Then, already in the economic field, Lastra opted for a "strong government" that is capable of facing the reforms. He stressed that Spain "grows above the European average" and said it is an "urban legend" that lower taxes increase revenue .

Espinosa de los Monteros put himself in the opposite position defending the "deregulation" of the economy, the reduction of unproductive state spending and the reduction of taxes. It was he who handled the economic arguments with more skill by replicating right and left.

Álvarez de Toledo, in this section, recalled the rise in unemployment that, in his opinion, the Socialist Governments propitiate and insisted that only the PP has the capacity to manage the economy. Arrimadas raised the proposals in favor of the self-employed and the reduction of taxes on families. Rufián preferred to advocate for a minimum salary of 1,200 euros ; a law of dignified dependence; reducing military spending and shielding pensions. Montero signed up and added the 34-hour workday. All of this, he said, would be paid with a bank tax.

The field of social policies was the only one that joined Podemos, PSOE and ERC in defense of feminism demanding changes in the Criminal Code so that "only one yes is a yes" and to curb sexist violence. The discrepancies at this point were marked by Vox - claiming life imprisonment - and PP.
