November 02, 2019 Alberto Sed, a survivor of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, disappeared.Alberto, after being captured in Rome with his mother and two sisters, was briefly taken to Fossoli, before being taken to Birkenau, where he was tattooed number A-5491.
Sed was born in Rome in 1928.
"His death represents an immense pain for the whole community. An even more painful loss in these dark times when anti-Semitic hatred reappears. With a smile he has been able to tell hell and make us better people. God bless his memory "writes Ruth Dureghello, president of the Jewish Community of Rome, in a statement.
