Karolina Pliskova, a N.2-ranked Czech, qualified for the semi-finals of the Masters by beating Simona Halep (5th) on Friday in three sets 6-0, 2-6, 6-4 in 1:45 on Friday. Shenzhen in China.
Pliskova takes second place in the purple group, behind the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, and thus joins the final four of this Masters, for the third year in a row.
With two games out of three lost, Simona Halep, Masters finalist in 2014 and crowned at Wimbledon this year, is eliminated.
Karolina Pliskova will face on Saturday in semi-finals Ashleigh Barty, N.1 world, and Elina Svitolina will be opposed to Switzerland Belinda Bencic.
