The German Nutrition Association said that whole grains have great health benefits, adding that these grains are rich in dietary fiber that protects against:

1- Type 2 diabetes.

2- Cardiovascular diseases.

3 - fat metabolic disorders.

4 - cancer of the large intestine.

Whole grains are also rich in B vitamins, iron, zinc and magnesium, the association said, noting that the recommended daily intake is at least 30 g.

For example, one slice of whole-grain bread contains about two grams of dietary fiber.
