In an article in Time magazine, Andrew Roberts presents some of the qualities needed to make a leader.

Roberts, author of Leadership in War: Essential Lessons from Those Who Made History, Churchill, Walking with Destiny and other books in this context, says that with the 2020 presidential election approaching, the United States is preparing to choose its next leader. At a time of amazing change and turmoil.

"How do we know what kind of person we will need to lead us through these difficult times? What qualities does a truly great American president need? And what can that person, regardless of political affiliation, learn from the leaders of the past?"

The writer believes that the leader should have qualities, including:

work Love
Many of the greatest leaders in history have been addicted to action, and former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill may be the most famous, although British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Borussian military commander Helmuth von Moltke I and Soviet leader Marshal Ivan Connev are other examples.

Planning and adaptation
The commander's ability to plan accurately is important, although Moltke says there are few plans that last beyond the initial contact with the enemy. Alternative plans in history have also been very successful.

strong memory
Strong memory is important for planning in particular and for leadership in general.Churchill had a strong memory and spent up to thirty hours memorizing and practicing his sermons to make them an ideal word, and he prepared for speeches that he might be asked to make sometime in the future.

Luck
Although it is impossible to estimate or predict its size, leaders must be lucky and wonderful.

Understanding feelings
The great leader should appreciate the political and economic terrain he carries.

Fixed nerves
Restraint in moments of crisis is essential.

Inspiration and morale
The ability to convince someone who believes he has been defeated is unbeaten, where the last victory in battle is the solution. One does not become a leader in the first place unless he has a strong personality.

Kindness
Understanding the psychology of others is important from leadership. Today, it seems presumed that in order to lead people one must emerge from them, but many leaders have come from different wealthy classes.

Political awareness
Leaders must have a sixth sense of politics, as is the sense of a coup, a sense of timing, a willingness to watch, a talent to work on what is really important rather than just misleading, and the ability to predict the behavior of a potential adversary in different scenarios.
