Hångelbenk and three meters high star lit up in the November darkness

"It's a theme that gives our artists a freedom as it can associate with so much," says Elin Winberg, project manager at Destination Uppsala.

Both men, women and cats will be praised by light. Among other things, Pelle Svanslös playground will be illuminated and thus throw a new light on the area. Other installations are more humorous. A light work goes by the name "Hångelbanken".

Why that name?

- It's pure physics! If two people sit on the bench and hold the armrest on either side of the bench and in each other's hands, the lights will light. If the contact between them happens by angling, the effect will be greater, says Elin Winberg.

The event will be arranged for the seventh time, but Elin Winberg promises that they will not run out of ideas.

- Thankfully, it's not me but artists who stand for the ideas. We got so many suggestions for lightworks that we could arrange next year's light festival on the same theme if we wanted to, ”says Elin Winberg.
