Due to the political unrest in Chile, the UN climate summit COP25 in Santiago was canceled at short notice. Now Spain has taken on the role of host country and the COP25 will instead be held in Madrid.

The fact that the meeting has been moved entails complications for Sweden's most well-known environmental activist, Greta Thunberg. She would attend the meeting, but now she is suddenly on the wrong side of the Atlantic. She got a lot of attention when sailing the route from Europe to the US to avoid having to fly. Now she asks for a push back in a tweet.

She writes: “Since COP25 has officially moved from Santiago to Madrid, I need help. It seems that I traveled half a lap around the earth, albeit in the wrong direction. Now I need to find a way to get back across the Atlantic in November ... If anyone can help me find a means of transportation, they are very grateful. "

Her journey across the Atlantic she made on the racing boat Malizia II. It took about two weeks.

No information about and how the minister is going to Madrid

Swedish Minister for the Environment and Climate Isabella Lövin will attend the meeting. When Chile announced that they were canceling the meeting, she told the Express that she felt it was important for COP25 to get rid. Today's message is therefore welcome.

She says in a written comment to SVT that: "It is good that it could be resolved so quickly so that there is no doubt that negotiations on the Paris Agreement framework will be completed this year. Spain is very welcome to step up to take on the host. I am still awaiting information on what form the meeting will take, but it is very positive that it will now be possible. ”

SVT has asked the question of how Isabella Lövin will come down to the meeting in Madrid, but has not received any response from her press staff.

COP25 will be held in Madrid between December 2 and 13.
