During the autumn, there have been a number of chapel cuts and thefts of electronics from trucks at rest areas along the E4 in the municipalities of Värnamo, Vaggeryd and Jönköping. Among other things, a large number of TV sets have been stolen.

After a series of investigative measures, the police in Växjö were able to arrest two men in their 30s and 35s as suspects of the theft. They are also suspected of theft from a truck in Nybro during the autumn.

- We struck at several addresses in the Växjö area on Tuesday evening and were able to arrest these two men, says Robert Loeffel.

Electronics worth several million

The men are suspected of a number of thefts from trucks and the value of the theft that has been seized is in the multi-million class.

- The value of the goods in just one of the thefts amounts to SEK 1.5 million, says Robert Loeffel.

At present, the men have been able to be associated with thefts in Jönköping, Värnamo and Nybro, but this may involve even more thefts.

- We can not rule out that there will be more cases, we are going through the goods now.

Could there be more arrests in the case going forward?

- We can't exclude that either, says Robert Loeffel.

How do the suspects react to the charges being brought against them?

- I do not know and it is also not certain that the prosecutor wants to go out with it before the arrest negotiations.

Detention hearing in Kalmar District Court

Preliminary detention will be held during Friday at Kalmar District Court.

- You choose to move forward with the Nybroäränt and therefore it becomes Kalmar district court.

What will happen to the theft goods?

"The goal is to be able to reposition it with the rightful owners," says Robert Loeffel at the police.
