“All ongoing criminal cases against two UNMIK employees (UN missions in Kosovo. - RT ) should be terminated in this way immediately,” said UN Secretary General Special Representative and Head of the UN Mission in Kosovo Zahir Tanin.

He also stated that “the Kosovo authorities should investigate those Kosovo police officers who participated in these incidents, and the relevant Kosovo institutions should take steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur.”

In late May, Kosovo police special forces ROSU entered the northern regions of the region. As reported in Serbia, Kosovo law enforcement officers detained 28 people, including two UN employees, including Russian Mikhail Krasnoshchekov.

Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky noted that the Kosovo police acted out of provocative motives because of the elections, where the Serbian representatives won.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow would not allow "braking" the crime committed against a Russian UN official who was injured on May 28 as a result of the actions of the Kosovo security forces.
