Six ministers in Seine-Saint-Denis and 23 measures announced to boost the attractiveness of the territory: "a new page that opens", judge at the microphone of Europe 1 the communist mayor of Courneuve, Gilles Poux, who complained ten years ago already for "territorial discrimination".

INTERVIEW

Mayor of La Courneuve since 1996, Gilles Poux is no stranger to the visits of elected officials: it was in his city that Nicolas Sarkozy had promised, in 2005, to "clean the city Kärcher". Was this government visit this Thursday different from the others?

"Frankly, I believe it," says the communist mayor. "The Prime Minister came to say what we denounce for years, that the inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis are not equal in access to common law policies, structurally."

"I was not expecting a revolution, but this is the first time there is this recognition. It is a new page that opens", rejoices the elected, which analyzes the 23 measures announced: " some are going in the right direction, others are not enough, but now everyone is in this reality. "

Weaknesses on the school

Gilles Poux praised the recruitment of 50 additional police officers for La Courneuve and Saint-Ouen, which he said represented "a gain of 15% of the workforce for the city," and a way "to strengthen the police resources of this department, which was a weak point of the national police ". Among the measures he considers positive for the 93, the elected representative also cites the effort to develop the attractiveness of the territory to officials. 10,000 euros of bonus are thus promised to them if they officiate there more than five years. What "ensure an indispensable continuity of work on the ground", judges the communist mayor.

He regrets, however, that the Prime Minister has "remained in the middle of the watch" on the theme of the school. Gille Poux thus calls for a recruitment in the colleges, so that "there is the sufficient number of teachers, facing public facing significant social difficulties".
