A large crowd gathered at Conakry airport Thursday, October 31 for a show of strength in favor of President Alpha Conde, back from travel. A march that sounds like a response to the strong mobilization of the National Front for Defense of the Constitution last week.

T-shirts, caps and even umbrellas bearing the image of Alpha Condé sway in front of the stage where artists and ministers alternate in front of a public in the colors of the party in power.

" We are here to reaffirm the support of the people of Guinea to the President of the Republic ," said one activist. We demonstrate to the world that Alpha Conde is the President of the Republic and that he still has the overwhelming majority of the Guinean population. "

" We are here as a response to the FNDC [National Front for the Defense of the Constitution, Ed], because when we're fed up, we have an answer to give, " adds a protester.

We meet minibuses loaded with activists. The president appears wearing a blue shirt. Officially, it is a question of celebrating one's return, but on the placards one can read " yes to the new Constitution, let's go to the referendum ". Sometimes we hear " yes to the third term ".

" The President of the Republic remains and remains the torchbearer of the Guinean population, believes an activist. We want a new Constitution, yes to the new Constitution! "

" Alpha Conde is supported by the people and it is this same people who are before them today to say " yes to the new Constitution, yes to the referendum " . Because the time has come ", adds a sympathizer.

The opposition accuses the government of having paid to mobilize the administration. In some services the presence was obligatory tells us a source, which strongly challenges the officials.

After greeting the crowd gathered at the People's Palace, Alpha Condé took the leadership of the presidential palace, without holding a speech. They would have been more than a million according to the government for this walk to downtown.

President Alpha Conde thanked the many citizens who came warmly to welcome him back to Guinea. This dense crowd is proof of the vitality of our Republic. #Kibaro pic.twitter.com/KvaVMSXwWi
