Banking customers testify that they have been called by people who call from the finance company and announced that the application for a loan has been approved and that money can be paid out. This is despite the fact that customers never applied for a loan.

Requested login

When they claim that something must have gone wrong, the person offers from the finance company which is actually a fraudster to link the call to the called person's bank. After being linked to what is perceived as the bank, the caller is asked to key in details and log in to his bank ID.

However, because the person answering the bank is also a fraudster with a caller with the caller, the fraudsters can link bank accounts.

"It is a new method for carrying out such scams, but basically the same way we have seen before," says Mikael Hansson at the Regional Fraud Center at the Police Region North.

"Hang up"

The police receive reports of such crimes all the time and Mikael Hansson understands that especially older people can be deceived.

- They get really stressed when they get this kind of call and have a brief advice to give:

- Hang up.

Mikael Hansson also says that it is very important to never enter codes or log in to a call, even after the call.

Difficult to face

The possibility of getting your money back if you have been cheated varies. The police can often see where the money has taken the road, but it can still be difficult to bring the person responsible to justice. Sometimes banks can help with a certain repayment, but then it is common for the deceived to stand a certain deductible.
