After being interrupted, excavations resumed in Bafoussam at the site of the landslide on Monday. The last assessment is 43 dead and 11 wounded.

On the pressure of local residents, the excavations stopped Thursday morning resumed in the afternoon . The firefighters have again invested the site, helped by some volunteers. With shovels and picks as the only tools, they returned the muddy land about 100 meters. " With these rudimentary equipment, we can not do better, " said one of them.

The governor of the region, arrived on the site in the early evening, promised that they will have this Friday a machine that will search the site from top to bottom. These last excavations did not allow to find new victims . The death toll is 43 dead and 11 wounded.

Earlier in the day, an ecumenical religious ceremony attended by some political leaders and traditional leaders was conducted in the heart of the drama in the presence of hundreds of residents.
