The Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, said that the governments of the UAE and Egypt have a common keenness to achieve excellence, which is based on learning and exchange of knowledge and experience, and benefit from the experience of the other.

This came during the honoring of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the winners of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence in its first session, in a ceremony held under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the presence and participation of an Emirati ministerial delegation headed by Al-Gergawi.

The award was launched at the end of Egypt's Conference of Government Excellence held in Cairo in July 2018, with the support and partnership of Emiratis, as part of the executive plans of the strategic partnership agreement in the government modernization between the two brotherly countries.

Madbouly announced that the award will be made compulsory and not voluntary, starting from its second session next year, for all government agencies and employees, and announced the doubling of the financial value of the award, starting from the current session, to fuel competition and encourage excellence in government work, And the creation of new categories.

He thanked the UAE leadership, government and people for their efforts to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two brotherly countries in all fields in general and in the field of government modernization in particular.

Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, said: “If the UAE's experience in government work has been able to inspire many other government experiences in the region, such as one based on continuous learning, continuous development and continuous innovation, then Egypt is the foundation, history and work experience. Turning to the milestones of the march of excellence in the UAE, he said that this march actually began in 1994, through the Dubai Quality Award, through the Sheikh Khalifa Award for Excellence, Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance, and the Emirates Award for Excellence in Government Performance, and with the development of the UAE experience in organizational excellence The Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance was launched in 2015 as a comprehensive university award, the first model of excellence in the government sector in the world.

Inspired by the UAE Government Excellence System, the award aims to improve government performance at various levels, motivate government employees to excel, innovate and innovate, and encourage competition between different government institutions and agencies to provide quality government services, accelerate development paths in various economic and vital sectors, and meet the needs of The aspirations of citizens according to international standards of quality and government excellence.

The award was designed in accordance with the UAE Government Excellence System as part of the strategic partnership in government modernization between the two countries.

At its first session, the Award received nearly 2,000 applications, competing for 16 awards, including 11 for institutional excellence categories and five for individual excellence.

50 thousand hours evaluation

Applications for the Award were subjected to thorough scientific evaluations, in which 110 evaluators and expert arbitrators contributed to the evaluation of applications for the Award, which took about 50,000 working hours, 450 hours per evaluator. Office for applications, field visits for evaluation, training workshops, consensual meetings, and jury meetings.

The judging panel comprised members of leading organizations of excellence and quality, whose expertise includes the European Quality Organization, the Asian Quality Organization and the experts of the application of the UAE Government Excellence System.The evaluation process was conducted using an intelligent electronic system to ensure the governance and accuracy of the results and facilitate the evaluation process.
