Meteorologist: Three types of slips strike against Sweden

During Wednesday, three different types of slips are expected to hit the entire country. In northern Norrland, rainfall is expected during the day in the form of snow, which creates snow slippage on the roads.

In central and southern Norrland, gear slips are expected as the road surface changes rapidly during the day, and there should be a little extra vigilance.

- During the morning we have a snowfall in the mountain chain in Norrland, which in the afternoon pulls east. In the afternoon, it drifts inland and turns more into wet snow or rain that falls on the roadways that are cold, and it will be slippery because of it, says Tora Tomasdottir.

The rain can then heat up the roadways, which makes it less slippery but in the evening it clears up and the wet road will freeze to ice.

- Towards evening you should therefore be a little careful, there may not have been any slippery when leaving the house but then it can go quite quickly when it clears up, that it turns and freezes for a very short time. You need to be vigilant on that, says Tora Tomasdottir.

For Svea- and Götaland, the temperature during the evening will drop to zero in most of southern Sweden. The humid air will form frost, which will form slippery in the evening and night.

- It will mainly be about slipping near bridges and valleys, says Tomasdottir.

- On Thursday it clears up and becomes sunny in almost the whole country. Even Friday will be pretty sunny, but there may be some snow in the mountains, and some showers in the southwestern part of the country, but in general quite lovely autumnal weather.

During Sunday the fine weather is expected to subside and instead there may be some rain towards evening in the south while the northern part of Sweden can get several minus degrees. In northern Norrland the temperature can reach around -20 degrees.
