During Tuesday night's meeting, the parties had different views on whether a school closure would really improve the municipality's finances, reports the Småland Post. However, a majority of politicians voted for the school to be shut down. But since over a third of the members wanted the matter to be further investigated, no final decision was made.

The school has been threatened with closure since mid-September when the Board of Children and Education proposed to close the school because too few students are applying. Instead, they want to spend the money on the elementary schools in the municipality.
