• Facebook does not work, Twitter stormed

April 14, 2019Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, after about three hours of blackouts - between 12 and 15 today - have started working again. Mark Zuckerberg's social networks had suffered inefficiencies, slowdowns and denied access all over the world. Users have complained about difficulties connecting to news feeds and loading profiles.

The failure seems to have affected Europe above all, in particular in Italy Rome, Milan and Palermo and also London, Rotterdam, Vienna, and again in Spain, Portugal, in south-east Asia, particularly in Malaysia; in the USA, particularly on the East Coast (New York).

As reported by the downdetector.com website, from 12.00 on Sunday 14 April there were hundreds of reports of problems with social media and, as always happens in these cases, on Twitter between the trending topics and the hashtags #facebookdown, #instagramdown and #whatsappdown.

"During the day, some people may have encountered problems accessing the Facebook family apps. The problem has been solved. We apologize for the inconvenience," says a Facebook spokesman.

These problems come a month after the longest social blackout in history : 14 hours of disconnection.

The reason was attributed to a server malfunction and the hacker's liability was therefore excluded. All three properties of Facebook are working on the integration of the three platforms, so that users of one or the other service can exchange messages with each other without limit.
