ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court has begun a trial of a gang of seven Asian nationals (one of whom is a fugitive) accused of planning and executing a robbery from a poultry farm in the UAE.

During the hearing, the lawyer assigned to defend the defendants stated that there is a conflict in the defense of all the defendants in the case, since each of them tried to exonerate himself and accuse others, which makes it difficult for the defense task to refute what one of them decides against the other, which leads to a breach of the right of defense. She wanted to limit her defense to the sixth defendant in the case, whose loot was kept.

The lawyer pointed out that the case papers and investigations showed that the three accused of the arrested broke the safe of the farm, while the two accused the process of monitoring the location of the incident, and the loot was hidden by the sixth defendant.

The court responded to the request of the lawyer, and postponed the consideration of the case until the November 11 hearing, to assign a lawyer to defend the rest of the accused.
