The cargo ship Rix Emerald was recently noticed when it rained on the Göta River and after the chaos struck by the Swedish authorities.

But the ship returned to Sweden and Kalmar last week. There, the Swedish Transport Agency stopped, after finding several serious deficiencies. Among other things, the emergency generator did not start, the rescue was substandard and the agreements with the crew were "not okay".

- This ship should not be out at sea with such serious security shortcomings. Of course, this is potentially dangerous, ”said Mikael Andersson, press director at the Swedish Transport Agency.

But this afternoon, the Swedish Transport Agency lifted the ban on use when the deficiencies are rectified, reports P4 Kalmar.
