During the weekend, a new fall protection equipment was inaugurated in Falkenberg's ice rink. By attaching a harness to the circular track installed in the roof, you can skate without falling and injuring yourself.

- It can be used both in figure skating when our riders practice difficult jumps, but above all, it also means that even those with a disability can be on the ice, says Susanne Thorsson, project manager and secretary at Falkenberg's Figure Skating Club.

Includes disabled persons

For someone who has difficulty with the balance or lacks strength in the legs, the fall protection can catch up and make it possible to go anyway. The initiative is a collaboration between Falkenberg's Figure Skating Club, Disabled Children and Youth, RBU, Halland and FUB Falkenberg.

- I think it can include our members that they also have access to ice. Many of these young people go to a "regular" class and have friends who are walking. Then it is fun to do something with them or with their family, ”says Maria Norrman, chair of RBU Halland.
