“The government has set a very ambitious goal - to achieve annual economic growth of Ukraine, at least 5-7% per year. And according to the results of five years, to realize the GDP growth of 40%. This is an absolutely real goal. But for this you need to change the attitude towards Ukraine among investors. We must stop being a problem country - we must become an opportunity country, ”Goncharuk said at an investment forum in Mariupol.

According to him, economic growth is very important, in particular "in the context of the reintegration of the Donbass," where it is necessary to create jobs, show that Ukraine can build a "common future, and not share the past."

“We are a government that works for the future,” Goncharuk added, noting that a lot of investment projects will be presented within the framework of the forum, including those aimed at solving acute social problems.

He also called Mariupol a symbol that went "through the darkness, began a revival and is striving for growth."

Earlier, the State Duma appreciated the statement of the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Timofey Milovanov about a possible economic breakthrough of the country, saying that the most realistic prospect for Kiev would be the restoration of trade and economic relations with Russia.

As a member of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Vladimir Katenev said, "if they have (in Ukraine. - RT ) growth of 10-20%, then even this will not be a breakthrough."

On October 17, Milovanov said that in 2020 the country's economic growth is projected at 3.7%.
