"Libra closes to the public in less than a week".

So it says in the headline of a sponsored post on Facebook, which is illustrated with a picture of founder Mark Zuckerberg, and the logo of Facebook's cryptocurrency Libra.

If you click on the link you come to a page that looks like Expressen's finance site "Your money". The headline on the page is "Facebook releases Libra for private investors, don't lose profits like Bitcoin 2.0 again!"

The post is about pure fraud, which has been going on for a long time, with a long line of celebrities such as poster names that should trick eager investors for their money. And now even Facebook's own CEO is used in the bluff.

"I hate Facebook"

Several of the hit celebrities have criticized Facebook for not stopping the scam ads.

"My name is used without my permission and completely incorrect," Camilla Läckberg wrote on her Instagram account.

“Facebook is the devil in this context. They have been fooling the whole world. I hate Facebook, "said Filip Hammar in the TV program Called for TV3.

Several scam ads with Zuckerberg

The fact that a post is sponsored means that Facebook has been paid for people to get it in their feed. Two paid posts with Zuckerberg were active on October 27 and 28.

Poland is the primary country where the people who manage the site that spread the scam ads operate.
