Peskov said that “these data are absolutely inconsistent with the data” obtained from the Small and Medium Business Corporation and the tax service, “there are other data” that “indicate more favorable processes.”

At the same time, he noted that the development of small and medium-sized businesses is "not without problems" but, despite this, "there is growth."

He explained that there are a number of nuances.

As an example, Peskov cited the possibility of moving a legal entity from the small business category to medium-sized business.

“There are multidirectional processes, so somewhere the quantity is reduced, somewhere it is increasing,” the presidential spokesman added.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper, citing the Ministry of Economic Development, reported that 668 thousand legal entities had closed in Russia over the past year.
