British Parliament rejects Johnson's proposal for early elections

Johnson's initiative was supported by 299 members of parliament, 70 parliamentarians voted against. At least 434 votes were needed to pass the bill.

At the same time, the opposition Labor Party refused to vote.

Earlier it was reported that Johnson will ask parliament to call early elections for December 12.
