New US sanctions hit Cuba. The United States will suspend from December direct flights to Cuba, except to the capital Havana. A measure that the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo justifies with the support of Cuba to the regime of Nicolas Maduro.

The cities of Santiago, Santa Clara or Varadero will no longer be served by American companies. Nine destinations are concerned, cities and tourist islands, but also and especially destinations for Cuban-Americans who use these flights to visit their families, with suitcases packed to boot.

JetBlue and American Airlines have already indicated that they will comply with this new restriction. A measure that comes 3 years after the restoration of scheduled flights between Cuba and the United States, under the Obama administration.

Earlier this week, the United States also announced that it would limit commercial aircraft leasing to Cuban airlines.

The Cubana de Aviacion is forced to suspend flights, the loss of earnings is estimated at $ 10 million.
