Sharjah Municipality has confirmed the destruction of 3434 tons of foodstuffs that do not meet the specifications and food safety standards, pointing out its keenness to intensify inspection visits to various food establishments in the city of Sharjah, and to ensure compliance with health regulations and requirements, to ensure the provision of safe food to the public, noting that it implemented 29 thousand Visit to food facilities.

She pointed out that the inspection visits also include ensuring the cleanliness of the facility, equipment, tools, maintenance requirements and others.

She said that the municipality has a qualified inspection team to conduct monitoring, follow-up and supervision of food establishments, and is competent in accordance with best practices in this regard, adding that the inspection campaigns on establishments are continuing morning and evening, and includes several procedures, such as taking samples of products traded in the market for laboratory testing, Ensuring their safety and issuing warnings to establishments not complying with the required health requirements.
