The scoring round, the last qualifying stage for the 2019-2020 Confederation Cup group stage, started Sunday (October 27th) with the first legs. El Masry made a big step towards qualification by defeating Côte d'Or (4-0). The match Asante Kotoko-San Pedro was stopped at the break because of the rain.

Another round trip and we will know the 16 teams that will play in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup this season. This Sunday, October 27 took place the first legs of the round of framing. Only one, however, could not go to term.

Asante Kotoko-San Pedro stopped by the rain

At Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana, intense rain hit the Asante Kotoko and San Pedro teams, who were competing against each other. The first period, troubled by the weather, was without relief and no goal was scored.

At the break, the referee noted the state of the ground, soggy, and ruled that the match could not resume. For 45 minutes, the gardeners tried to evacuate the water in the lawn, to no avail. The decision was made to stop the match. It will resume Monday, October 28, for the last 45 minutes with a score unchanged from 0-0, as required by the regulation.

Foot-Esae generation on October 30th, maybe November 2nd

The match between Génération Foot and Esae will be played on an undetermined date. Senegalese playing CAF Champions League second leg against Zamalek on Thursday (October 24th) (1-0 loss means elimination on both legs as Zamalek lost 2-1 in the first leg with a goal outside so), their first leg of the round of framing could not take place this Sunday.

The match against FC Esae will take place either Wednesday, October 30 or Saturday, November 2. Generation Foot asked CAF to play on November 2nd; the answer has not yet fallen.

El Masry and Zanaco at the top

For the fourteen matches of the first round that could be played, there was no advantage taken by the clubs that qualified against those who were drafted after their elimination in the CAF Champions League: five wins for the first, five wins for the second, and four draws.

The Egyptians El Masry took a big option on qualifying by going to win in Seychelles against Côte d'Or (4-0). Good operation also for Zambians from Zanaco to Cano Sport (3-1). Smaller but still important success for South Africans from Bidvests Wits in Mozambique against Songo (2-1), for Egypt's Pyramids in Tanzania against Young Africans (2-1) and for Mali's Djoliba in Chad against Elect Sport (1-0).

At home, the Malagasy Fosa Juniors dominated the Renaissance Berkane (2-0). Same score for the Nigerian club Enyimba against the South Africans TS Galaxy and Mauritanians Nouadhibou against Triangle, Zimbabwe club. Togolese champion ASC Kara defeated Nigerian Enugu Rangers 2-1. The biggest success is to the credit of the Guineans Horoya AC against the Kenyan Bandari (4-2).

Finally, there was no winner between Gor Mahia and Motema Pembe (1-1), between Green Eagles and Hassania Agadir (1-1) and between KCCA and Paradou AC (0-0).
