“After the Russian side banned flights in July ... for five months, the Georgian budget suffered damage in the amount of $ 350 million,” RIA Novosti quoted Gakharia as saying.

On July 8, a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin entered into force, which temporarily banned flights with Georgia.

Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called for the resumption of air links with Georgia.

As the minister pointed out, this would be correct, since the majority of the Georgian population realized the counterproductiveness of the provocation against Russia.

The Kremlin expects that in due time the necessary conditions will be created.

In turn, Gaharia welcomes the opportunity to improve relations with Russia, in particular, the resumption of direct flights.
