Bringing the dog to the store and letting it stay in the car is something that many dog owners prefer to avoid. In Vänersborg, a larger grocery store has tried to remedy this by having dog parks installed outside the entrance.
- Partly it is good in the summer, to avoid the dog sitting in a way too hot car, and in the winter when many have this as part of the dog walk. They stop on the way home and shop a little, and then the dog can wait here for a few minutes, notes Gun Engsryd, who has the keys to the hut.
App required to enter
Normally, the dog owner must download an app to his smartphone. For three SEK a quarter, dog owners can let the dog check in at the dog parking, the price includes underfloor heating and fan systems. The space is automatically cleaned between customers.
Holger Svedung and the dog Sigge have used the dog parking several times.
- When we go for a walk here it is a good solution, it is no fun to put Sigge out.
But isn't it better for Sigge to stay home while you shop?
- Yes, he could have been, but it's not as fun for him. It's more fun to be with.
