Regarding the "one-stage agreement" with the US-China trade negotiations, the US Trade Representative said, "The two sides are close to finalizing some areas of the agreement."

According to US CNBC broadcasts, the USTR issued a statement on Wednesday.

CNBC said the US-China chief executive, Robert Wright-Heiser, US Treasurer Stephen Mannusin and Deputy Prime Minister Liu Huh, both of whom are high-level trade negotiators, spoke on the phone.

The USTR said in a statement that "the progress has been made on specific issues," he said. "We will continue to discuss at the deputy level, and a senior US-China negotiator will talk again in the near future."

The United States held the 13th high-level trade talks in Washington, DC between October 10 and 11, and US President Donald Trump says it has reached "a very substantial first-level agreement."

The agreement did not lead to the signing of an official document.

The two sides have continued follow-up contacts for official signatures between President Trump and President Xi Jinping in China at the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Chile next month.

As part of the "stage 1 agreement," the United States has suspended tariff increases on its $ 250 billion Chinese product, which was originally planned for last 15 days.

China is said to have pledged large quantities of US produce, and US claims have reported between $ 40 and $ 50 billion.

In addition, the United States says progress has also been made in relation to the protection of intellectual property rights, the opening of China's market to foreign financial institutions, and China's involvement in the exchange rate market.

Expectations for US-China trade negotiations have been highlighted by the USTR, and New York shares are gaining around 1% on the third quarter's earnings.
