Organized by the Dubai Future Foundation, the First World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Championship will continue until tomorrow, with 1,500 students aged 14-18 from 191 countries competing in robotics and AI applications to develop innovative solutions. Focus on ways to save the oceans and protect the marine environment.

The Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Sultan Al Ulama, said that the course, which is being held in Dubai from the First Global Challenge, is the best in terms of organization since the start of the competition.

In a statement to reporters yesterday, the scientists described the participants in the challenge, the largest of its kind in the world, as the makers of change and the leaders of the future, expressing the hope that the UAE team will win the competition.

He said that the UAE is pursuing a long-term plan in terms of artificial intelligence technologies. We have witnessed the launch of the first university of its kind in artificial intelligence, with the aim of turning it into an attractive environment for researchers and scientists specialized in this field, in addition to training qualified Emirati cadres to engage in the field of intelligence. Artificial.

For his part, UAE Ambassador to the United States, Yousef Al-Otaiba, said that the participants in the competition do not talk about the political situation of countries, or wars and conflicts, because the thinking is all about the future, and how to help humanity. He pointed out that the choice of ocean protection as a theme for the competition was very important, because it motivates participants to seek solutions to a problem facing the whole world, namely, ocean pollution.

Al-Otaiba stressed the importance of allocating at least 1% of its budgets for innovation and artificial intelligence to launch the spirit of hope and thinking in the future, stressing that this is not only about money, but also the existence of a vision, thought and strategy in this regard.

Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said that the organization of the tournament in Dubai reflects the UAE's mission to promote tolerance, cooperation and global solidarity, and to coordinate joint efforts to achieve the best communities.

The goal is to collect the maximum number of points during the qualifying days, after which the top teams in total will go up to the competition on Sunday, which will see the organization of the knockout competitions. Among the teams that managed to cross to the final stage, the winners were then announced and the prizes were distributed.

The competition area includes dedicated areas for each team, training areas, two training grounds and a robotics clinic, whose mission is to help teams complete any missing pieces, including Emirati volunteers, as well as outside participants.

Qualifying competitions focus on the success of participating teams in developing robots capable of performing a range of tasks required, serving global efforts to protect the oceans and clean them from millions of tons that negatively affect marine life and the health of the world's population.
