Patrushev: foreign intelligence agencies seek vulnerabilities in the Russian IT sector

2019-10-25T08:12:30.449Z

Foreign intelligence agencies are conducting a targeted search for vulnerabilities in the Russian IT sector to conduct large-scale cyber attacks, said Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

“The objects of critical information infrastructure in Russia remain the main goals for providing harmful influence, which will create real threats to national security,” RIA Novosti quoted him at a meeting in Omsk.

Previously, hackers attacked the mail of the Russian Embassy in Latvia.

At the end of June, Yandex announced that it had detected and neutralized attempts to cyber attacks on its services at the end of 2018.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, called for an adequate assessment of the threats of cyber attacks in the face of increasing US activity in cyberspace.
