This was stated by the representative of the prosecutor's office of Kiev Nadezhda Maksimets to the publication "Ukrainian Truth."

According to her, Vladimir Borokh was killed, who was first detained in connection with the attack on Voronenkov, and then received witness status.

“This man was detained at the same time as one of the suspects in the murder of Denis Voronenkov. However, during the course of the investigation, sufficient evidence was not received to declare him suspected of involvement in the murder. He had witness status in the proceedings, however, he didn’t give any evidence important for the investigation, ”she said.

Maksimets added that the Kiev prosecutor’s office will be in contact with local law enforcement agencies to verify a possible link between the shootout in Kharkov and the murder of Voronenkov.

Earlier, opera singer Maria Maksakova, the widow of Voronenkova, turned to the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, with a request to investigate the possible involvement of the ex-employee of the department in the death of her husband.

Denis Voronenkov was killed in the center of Kiev on March 23, 2017 by a hit man.
