As one might expect, the entire Spanish press gives a large place to the event. Remember that Franco led the country with an iron fist between 1939 and his death in 1975, which paved the way for democracy.

The daily El Pais , center left, headlines: " Franco out of Los Caidos ", with a photo in full page showing the helicopter flying away from the mausoleum, Franco's remains on board. The newspaper comes back on this day marked by sobriety and wonders what will become of this basilica with the Caudillo outside. A reconciliation center, perhaps.

The daily El Mundo chose him for an informative: "The Government fate Franco Los Caidos and preparing new exhumations." The legend of the photo of the Une, with the helicopter in flight also, returns to the spectacular aspect of the event.

This is also the angle chosen by the very conservative daily ABC . He denounces the media and pre-election show, staged by the socialist government of Pedro Sanchez. Less than twenty days of parliamentary elections, many editorialists are indeed back on the electoral scope of this exhumation. " Socialists use Franco, " says ABC newspaper.

Finally, the great Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia returns to him, on this historical fact with the title: " The exhumation puts an end to 44 years of worship of Franco ". He underlines the sobriety of this event, which was followed live by all the televisions, as one could see it in the majority of the bars of the country.
