“Russia will continue to demonstrate a responsible approach and readiness for an equal and constructive dialogue with the United States,” said Antonov in an article in The National Interest magazine.

The ambassador noted that after the loss of the INF Treaty, the preservation of the Russian-American agreement of the START Treaty, which is still in force in this area, seems to be a vital issue.

He added that the role of START in maintaining strategic stability has never been so important.

It was previously reported that Antonov said there were no guarantees that the United States would not deploy its strike weapons, which had previously been banned by the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (INF Treaty), in Europe.
