The United Nations will take part in the next World Expo in Dubai next year with the slogan 'We the peoples: to shape our future together' following the announcement by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres International cooperation in shaping the future that the world wants in the framework of the celebration of the International Jubilee Diamond Foundation.

Participation in Expo 2020 will provide the United Nations with an opportunity to share its mission, activities and achievements over the past 75 years with millions of visitors and participants and inspire them to become involved in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 goals.

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Pavilion at Expo 2020 Maher Nasser announced the logo of the United Nations Pavilion, a slogan that combines the opening words of the 1945 Charter of the United Nations with the slogan of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, entitled "To shape our future together."

"We are very grateful to the government and people of the UAE and to the organizers for this opportunity to be part of Expo 2020 and for the generous support provided," Nasser said.

The United Nations has received support from the UAE and the Expo 2020 office to participate in the event, which includes the provision of a fully equipped pavilion as part of the Expo 2020 policy “One Country One Pavilion”.

The pavilion will be built on an adjustable central space that will host events, presentations, discussions and meetings, and will be surrounded by exhibits that tell the stories of the United Nations system, agencies, achievements and individuals.

The pavilion will be organized in a manner that will inspire many new advocates to be closely involved in the United Nations and will highlight the extent to which the United Nations is open, accessible and useful, and to listen to the voices of young people from across the spectrum.

As visitors leave the pavilion they will feel that the United Nations is an influential force in the world and invites everyone to participate. This experience will focus on fostering a sense that the protection and protection of the rights of all people and indeed of all living beings and the planet itself is at the heart of the work of the United Nations.

The theme of “Connecting Minds and Making the Future” on which Expo 2020 is based is very much in line with the UN mission that calls on nations and peoples to work together to meet global challenges and build a secure, peaceful and sustainable future.

Since 1851, the World Expo has played a unique role in sharing ideas and new technology, engaging people and mobilizing support for global transnational priorities.

Expo 2020 - the first of its kind in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia - will welcome more than 200 participants, including 192 countries, each with a stand alone, making Expo 2020 the most comprehensive Expo in history.
