The final of Copa Libertadores will be played well in Santiago de Chile on November 23 despite violent protests that have been affecting the country for several days, said Thursday the president of the South American confederation of football Alejandro Dominguez.

"The single final is held in Santiago, Chile, it's going to be in Santiago, we're going to get back to normal," Paraguayan told 1080 AM radio Asuncion.

In 2018, the final return of the most prestigious South American club competition, between Argentine rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate, had to be postponed and relocated to Madrid after violence in Buenos Aires.

This year, it is played in one match and must pit River Plate against the Brazilians of Flamengo.

Chile has for several days been experiencing its worst social crisis in 30 years of democracy, with violent protests against the socio-economic situation and inequalities that have killed 18 people, including one child according to official figures.
