24 October 2019 Andrea Gaudenzi, 46, from Faenza, a former Italian tennis player, will be the new president of ATP, the association that brings together professional tennis players. The nomination arrived today, unanimously, on the ATP board. The appointment will take effect from January 1, 2020. Gaudenzi will have four years to lead the association.

The carreer
In his career, Gaudenzi was number 18 in the world and won three titles (Casablanca in 1998, St.Poelten and Bastad in 2001). Among his 'victims', the American Pete Sampras at Roland Garros and the Swiss Roger Federer at the 2002 Rome tournament. He was captain of Italy in the 1998 Davis Cup final, in Milan. As a professional tennis player, he earned a master's degree in business administration, becoming manager and entrepreneur. He created his own management company, managing among others Fabio Fognini and Andreas Seppi. Today Gaudenzi lives in London, he creates startups in the music and online games sector. Over time it has also started a high-level collaboration with the Italian Federtennis, and by virtue of this experience it has become a consultant for Atp Media, a company that also takes care of the television rights to the ATP 250 and 500 tournaments.
