The Department of Public Health and Environment in Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, in cooperation with the e-Government Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, launched yesterday the first phase of smart e-services provided to customers of the Department of Public Health in order to facilitate customers access to e-services without the need to review the customer service section of the Department of Public Health.

The Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department, since Bin Shokr Al Zaabi, said during a press conference held yesterday at Al Murjan Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, that the municipality, in cooperation with the eGovernment Authority, launched the first phase of the smart transfer of e-services in the municipality's public health department. Five services related to registration and updating of data related to public health institutions, food and consumer products registration service, health and free sales certificates service, and electronic inspection system service.

He pointed out that there are 48 services in the Public Health Department will be converted to electronic services in cooperation with the e-government, so that all the services of the Department of Health to electronic services in the middle of next year.

Shaima Al Tunaiji, Director of Public Health Department in Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, pointed out that the Department has launched its electronic services through the official portal of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah to accelerate transactions and easy access to the services provided by the Department and reduce the processing time and save effort on customers.

She explained that the first phase includes the launch of a program to register and update the data of public health and commercial institutions supervised by the Department of Public Health, as well as service registration of food products, consumer and veterinary materials.

She pointed out that the second phase of smart electronic services will be launched next week and include the launch of health certification service and the issuance of free sales certificates, and the third phase will be launched in November, and includes the launch of an electronic inspection system, which makes it easier for inspectors to process electronic inspection of school canteens.

The fourth phase will be launched in December this year, and includes the issuance of health cards service and the release of imported cargo through the ports of the emirate, and a number of smart services that will maintain customer satisfaction and the speed of completion of services.

She added that the Department has transformed the inspection of food establishments into an intelligent electronic inspection. The license of food cars that come from outside the Emirate has been linked to the electronic system in cooperation with the competent authorities in Ras Al Khaimah.

She explained, that the laboratory section of the Public Health Department will be linked to the electronic inspection system, where the owner of the institution will be able to access his account to obtain the results of the examination of routine samples, but if food samples were collected because of complaints or new samples of food products, the results are obtained through Pre-order Public Health Department.

She added that the municipality has classified food establishments into ABC, as the institution classified under category A reduces the number of visits to inspectors as an institution conforming to all regulations and reduces the pressure on the inspectors, and that the number of visits to institutions is linked to the classification of institutions and the extent of their application and compliance with health and environmental standards.

Eng. Ahmed Al Sayah, Director General of RAK eGovernment Authority, said that the RTA has launched eServices for the Public Health Department in Ras Al Khaimah Municipality to serve the food and health institutions, manufacturers, distributors, and packaging companies in Ras Al Khaimah. The Authority is preparing to launch four e-health services by the end of this year.

For his part, Deputy Director of e-Government Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, Ziad Dola, said that the launch of the first phase of smart e-services in the Public Health Department, through the registration of customer and food and consumer products, through the official portal of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, where The customer must have an account on to access the smart program of the system and pay the financial fees and fill the product data to get the service.

He added that the conversion of services to smart electronic came to improve practices and development of service processes, and that some services and transactions have been merged with each other to provide them in a unified service, and pointed out that about 30 electronic services will be provided during the current year, to be completed conversion of the rest of services to electronic with The middle of next year.
He explained that whenever a number of electronic services were launched, the ratio of visitors to the customer service center was reduced by 30%, as a result of their reliance on the use of smart electronic services.
